Homestays & Homes-to-Stay

Experience Home Away from Home

Kampung Morten

Kampung Morten, located in the heart of Melaka City, is the only Malay village in Melaka City. The village is considered as a living museum, as many of its residents still practice a way of life that has not changed much and many exhibit the uniqueness of their home design. The village was named after J.F. Morten, the Land commissioner in the early 1920s. Morten played a role in building the village, which was formerly just a swamp. It is next to the scenic Melaka River and near a shopping outlet, Spice Garden River Cruise and a few other recreational areas.
